A potential “future-proof” career path.

In November 2021, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, or Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) was signed to invest $1.2 trillion toward programs centered around zero-emission transit systems, water infrastructure, and electric vehicle (EV) charging. The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) built on the initial BIL funding by investing $370 billion over the next 10 years into various clean energy initiatives. (Source)

According to the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), “7,000 new electricians join the industry each year, but 10,000 retire from it,” putting the number of skilled electricians available at a severe deficit. (Source)
